Patient Journey

A Clear Path. From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.

At SMI, every patient follows a structured care pathway. There are no vague programs and no one-size-fits-all protocols. Your journey is mapped from your biology, built around your goals, and executed with clinical precision.
COMPREHENSIVE CLINICAL EVALUATION

Your journey begins with a Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation — the most thorough intake you will experience in a clinical setting.

Dr. Segal evaluates your status across all five biological systems: structural, orthopedic, digestive, cellular, and cardiovascular. This is not a routine physical exam. It is a full biological systems audit designed to identify exactly where dysfunction is occurring and why.

Duration: Approximately 60–90 minutes.

IDENTIFY THE SYSTEM INVOLVED

Based on your evaluation and any diagnostic testing ordered, Dr. Segal maps your clinical picture to the relevant biological systems. This mapping determines which program is appropriate for your case.

Patients do not self-select programs. The clinical picture determines the protocol. This is what distinguishes SMI from wellness programs and generalist functional medicine practices.

CREATE YOUR RECOVERY PLAN

Your recovery plan is a structured, protocol-driven document that specifies: the systems targeted, the diagnostics involved, the clinical treatments prescribed, the timeline, and the measurable outcomes expected.

You will know exactly what we are doing, why we are doing it, and what success looks like.

RESTORE FUNCTION
Active clinical care begins. Depending on your program, this includes structural treatments (chiropractic, spinal decompression, shockwave therapy), functional medicine protocols (gut repair, cellular support, metabolic optimization), and regular progress evaluations. Dr. Segal monitors and adjusts your protocol throughout.
LONG-TERM HEALTH OPTIMIZATION

After completing your program, you have a clear picture of your biological health and a maintenance strategy to sustain your results. Many patients continue with periodic evaluations and targeted support as part of their long-term health architecture.

The goal is not just recovery. It is a level of health you can build on.
